The primary goal of OPC is to promote a friendly atmosphere where beginning and seasoned professional photographers alike can establish new friendships, and improve their photographic skills by sharing their interests, constructive critique, and by participating in club projects. Ultimately, it is the hope of OPC to promote photography as an art form in our community.

The Owensboro Photography Club (OPC), is a group of people drawn together by an interest in photography. We have members who are just getting started and want to learn to improve their photos. Some members are seasoned photographers looking to learn about new techniques. We even have professional photographers who earn a living through photography.

The OPC was formed in 1948 by Mr. Arnett Husk. In the beginning; shutter snappers met in a basement to talk about photography. The club still meets to this day; with Frank Abrams as the current longest active member. Meetings are held the 4th Monday of every month at the Owensboro Area Museum of Science and History. The museum is located at 220 Daviess St. (the corner of 2nd and Daviess St.- Click for Google Map) Meetings are from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

If you have an interest in photography this may be the club for you! Ask an OPC member about club benefits, or join us at a meeting. Guests are always welcome. To find out more see Contact Us.
